In 1995, several British car enthusiasts got together at the Evansville Museum to exhibit their beloved British motor cars. From this humble beginning, the Southern Indiana Regional British Car Club - SIR BRIT - was formed to promote appreciation of our British cars and provide technical support to our members.
Jim Barrow, longtime British car dealer and mechanic in Newburgh, Indiana, was elected as the club's first president, serving for years as the club grew.
Since 1996, the annual SIR BRIT British Car Day on the River has been held at the Old Dam Park in Newburgh, Indiana. The club annually supports a selected non-profit organization.
In addition to the big show, the club participates in other area shows, cruise-ins and driving events.
